IACVAWC Resolution No. 1, s. 2018



RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE “INTER-AGENCY COUNCIL ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN (IACVAWC) STRATEGIC PLAN, 2017-2022”



WHEREAS, the Inter-Agency Council on Violence Against Women and Their Children (IACVAWC) composed of 12 member agencies: DSWD, CSC, CHR, NCRFW, now PCW, CWC, DOJ, DILG, PNP, DOH, DepEd, DOLE, and NBI was created by virtue of Section 39 of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004 and is tasked to develop programs and projects to eliminate violence against women and also serve as the monitoring body as regards VAWC initiatives;


WHEREAS, the IACVAWC formulated the new Strategic Plan, 2017-2022, succeeding the 2014-2016 Plan, as its guide in addressing VAWC concerns provided under RA 9262;


WHEREAS, the formulation of the Plan followed a rigorous process of consultations with service providers and VAW victim-survivors, analysis of progress and remaining issues based on research on the implementation of RA 9262, and highlights of relevant workshops, and technical committee meetings conducted for the purpose, results of which served as bases in crafting the strategic plan matrix;


WHEREAS, a three-day strategic planning workshop, participated by more than 60 participants from council members, and other stakeholders from government and non-government organizations, and some RIACAT-VAWC participants from Region III and Region IV-B, was conducted on February 7-9, 2017 to further review and validate the plan matrix;


WHEREAS, the Strategic Plan, as validated and enhanced during the strategic planning workshop, contains the vision, goal, priority issues, objectives, indicators, targets, and strategies and presented according to the three key result areas (KRAs) of the plan, Primary Prevention, Response System and Cross-Cutting Strategies and Actions;


WHEREAS, the revised Plan was presented during the 33rd IACVAWC meeting held on April 25, 2017, in which the body concurred that the Plan is comprehensive enough to serve as the Council’s blueprint in addressing violence against women in the country;


NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing premises, the IACVAWC, as a collegial body, hereby approves and adopts the Strategic Plan, 2017-2022 for implementation to be charged against the concerned agency’s Gender and Development (GAD) Budget;
